I absolutely adore vintage hat boxes.

They are really quite sturdy and great for storing things in. I use mine for books but they work well as a vanity case for make-up or as storage for items of sentimental value. These Harrods ones would be great in a living room or bedroom. I like the way they are stacked on top of each other as well. They also make a great statement if you want to add a pop of red to a room.

If you are after something a little more sophisticated, this is a gorgeous one from Emporium Junction on Ebay. It’s black leather which makes it very easy to slot in to any colour scheme. The grey lining is in really good condition so you could have it open to display books or magazines.
