color drenching – is it in or out?
By now we’ve all heard of the term colour drenching. It is a styling trend that involves a single colour or hues of a colour across all surfaces and elements in a room or space. This can mean painting walls, ceilings, skirting boards and even furniture in the same colour or hue. The idea is that is creates a unified effect, making a space feel enveloping and intentional. It can be used in large rooms and the smallest room alike.
Colour drenching often uses deep jewel tones, like emerald green or dark blue to add a sense of luxury. Conversely, muted pinks and browns create a haven of calm, almost a cocooning effect. It’s definitely here to stay. Will you try it?
My favourite example of colour drenching is by Elle Hervin @elle_the_home_bird on Instagram if you want to take a look.
