Think about your favourite experience in a hotel and I’m sure one of the things that stands out for you was how comfortable and cosy the bed was. We all get away for some respite, and having a good nights sleep is paramount, in my opinion.

The best type of bedding combines luxurious comfort and a clean crisp aesthetic. Here’s what to look for to replicate that at home or in your own Airbnb.

Sheets:100% cotton is the gold standard for hotel bedding, especially Egyptian cotton as its durable and soft. A range of 300-500 thread count. The weave can be Percale: lightweight, cool and crisp or Sateen: silky and smooth for a soft warm feel.

For Duvets, pillows and comforters: down or feather offers a plush, cloud like feel. Down alternatives are more budget friendly and hypo-allergenic.

Mattress toppers: to enhance comfort these are fantastic. I have recently bought the 4inch Mightysoft mattress topper and it’s worth every penny.

Blankets and Throws: think layering. Lightweight cotton or wool blankets for Spring and Summer. Soft cashmere or fleece throws for Autumn and Winter.
