Tablescaping - my new obsession!
Tablescaping! Who knew it could be so exciting. Maybe not for the average Joe, but I absolutely love it. There’s something so satisfying about creating a well put together table. From choosing a table cloth to the candles, flowers and foliage you choose, it makes for a really special occasion, with the added bonus that it’s sustainable.
Start with a colour scheme. A plain white tablecloth is a great base. You can find gorgeous ones in charity shops or maybe you could make one out of some cotton or linen you already have. From there add some foliage. If you are lucky enough to have Evergreens nearby then these look great laid down the centre of the table. To this you can add pine cones, berry stems or dried oranges for a festive look.
Next, choose your flowers. Winter white flowers look beautiful but any colour will do. Keep a full vase as a centrepiece and then have one or two flowers in posy vases around the table.
Candles or tea lights can be added to the foliage. Try and create some height with taper candles, if you have short stem flowers or use tea lights, if your flowers take centre stage.
Finally add your dinner service with some cotton napkins. You can add foliage to a napkin ring or just lay it on top to bring the whole thing together. It doesn’t have to be expensive or perfect, just enjoy it!
